Creative and fun activations for future heroes

Belgrade, October 22, 2025 - In anticipation of the European Men's Water Polo Championship, which will be held in the Belgrade Arena in January 2026, numerous activities have been organized for the youngest sports fans. As part of the promotion of the most anticipated water polo event on the continent, the Water Polo Federation of Serbia will, with fun and creative content, animate school-age children in order to attract their attention and to gain their interest in the sports event in which our most trophy-winning national team participates.

Representatives of the most successful sport and the creative team of the organizers will work with the children to create their authentic version of the water polo hero. The youngest, as the most important part of the population, who knows best what the joy of participating in collective games is, together with water polo heroes will popularize the sport and promote true values.

As part of the installation in TC Ušće, in the period from October 23 to 26, an interactive zone for children will be created. Then, they become designers and creators of their sports heroes. Using unique material specially created for the occasion with cartoon/animated hero and water polo stickers, young creatives will paint and make their sports hero, creating unique drawings that they can take with them as a souvenir or put on a big board in the mall.

Conceived as a creative workshop on the move, this activation encourages imagination, expression and team spirit, while children learn that each hero is as unique as their drawing.

In addition to the creative part, the activation will also have a special corner for future volunteers.

Those who want to become a part of the European Water Polo Championship will be able to register on the spot, and in this way, visitors will have the opportunity to, first hand, be part of a major sporting event and contribute to its success.

The organization of the European Championship in Belgrade will also mark two big anniversaries - 20 years since the European Championship in 2006 and 10 years since the unforgettable championship in 2016, when our "dolphins" won gold in front of the home crowd and at the same time broke the attendance record for a water polo match when 18,473 spectators were present.

It is expected that Belgrade will become the European capital of water polo in January 2026 when thousands of fans from all over the continent will come to support their national teams, while the domestic audience, traditionally loyal and passionate, will once again show that it knows how to create an atmosphere worthy of a champion.
