Belgrade, November 27, 2025 - In anticipation of the European Men's Water Polo Championship, which will be held in the Belgrade Arena in January 2026, numerous activities have been organized for the youngest sports fans. As part of the promotion of the most anticipated water polo event on the continent, the Water Polo Federation of Serbia animated school-aged children with fun and creative content in order to attract their attention in order to interest them in the sports event in which our most trophy-winning national team participates.
A lot of interesting content in the fields of sports, entertainment, art and culture was organized as part of visits to elementary schools, as well as in the area of TC Ušće. The representatives of the most successful sport and the creative team of the organizers worked with the students of the Belgrade elementary schools "Danilo Kiš", "Vladislav Petković Dis", "Ivo Andrić" and "Svetozar Miletić" to create their authentic version of the water polo hero. The youngest, as the most important part of the population, who know best what the joy of participating in collective games is, together with water polo heroes popularized the sport and promoted true values. From November 19 to 22, an exhibition of works was held at TC Ušće, which on several occasions exuded a sports atmosphere promoting water polo.
As part of the installation in TC Usce, an interactive zone was created for children where they became designers and creators of their heroes. Using stickers with water polo and hero motifs, young creatives painted and made their hero, creating unique drawings.

The organization of the European Championship in Belgrade will also mark two big anniversaries - 20 years since the European Championship in 2006 and 10 years since the unforgettable championship in 2016, when our "dolphins" won gold in front of the home crowd and at the same time broke the attendance record for a water polo match when 18,473 spectators were present.
It is expected that Belgrade will become the European capital of water polo in January 2026 when thousands of fans from all over the continent will come to support their national teams, while the domestic audience, traditionally loyal and passionate, will once again show that it knows how to create an atmosphere worthy of a champion.
